Warrior's Armour
The Anglo-Saxons wore mail (mail is chainmail but chainmail is a word made by the victorians). The mail was made by cutting thin strips of iron from a sheet and winding this around a cylinder. It was then cut off with a chisel to make the links. The ends of the links were squashed flat and hole put in it. A rivet (which is like a little bolt) is put through the hole. The links were made into long shirts.
There were lots of different types of helmets like in the picture at the top. They were made out of metal and they always protected their noses. Sometimes the sides were made from mail and sometimes you had all your face covered the helmet could also be designed to put terror or fear to their enemies.
